Here's a short noisy one for all of you Modular
purists out there. These are a couple of cuts from some
time playing with a few ideas on the Doepfer. Essentially
VCO 1 is frequency Modulating VCO 2 through the linear
input. The signal being fed into VCO 2's FM input is
being gated/enveloped via VCA and EG 1 so that it only
modulates the attack, leaving the sine output unchanged
during the decay phase of the sound.
LFOs 1 and 2 are driving the S&H unit, which in turn is
feeding the VC input of LFO 3 which is in turn triggering
the EGs.
Cubase is feeding in a 4 note sequence for a bit of

When i started making hardstyle i had most trouble
creating good kicks, and i searched youtube for tutorials
but couldnt find any good one(taking a fruity kick and
adding fast dist isnt going to make you a hs kick:P)
The kick in HS is very important, and it is very hard to
get it to sound right, with special characteristics. But
it is so much better to be able to make your own ones
instead of just taking a blutonium boy hardkick sample ;P
its the way to go if you want to make your music

rate" potentiometer instead of the fixed resistor.. Very
big difference! Build from junkbox parts, so all
potentiometers are wrong values and logarithmic insted of
linear.. Quite the task to control it! Still in
testing/modding state so for the time being the panel is
cardboard..

A quick video of my new sound system. Sony GT-520
head-unit, Hifonics BXi1208D amp, DB hybrid 15 farad
capacitor, Apline SWR-1042D type-r subs, and Q-Logic
bandpass box by Rockford Fosgate. Subs are wired down to
1 ohmn load, each voice coil gets 300rms, each subs gets
600rms. All powered by 0 guage wire. Sony 4-way
speakers soon to be replaced with amplified JBL P660C
component speakers.
Yes, the subs are 10"s baby!
